The instructions walk you through stacking the cubes in the correct order and which cubes should have restricted flow for proper filtration.The instructions tell you to rinse all the products before you put them in the filtration system and stack it. The order for stacking is gravel, sand, active carbon and then filter paper before it filters into a glass or bowl you place underneath. Then you get to really see the filter work by mixing water and potting soil with a little vegetable oil and pouring it in the top. This kit includes 15 accessories including sponges, filter paper, porcelain sand, crushed granite, activated carbon, quartz sand, saleratus and potassium alum.
